Missing something

I love everything by U2 up untill POP. POP isn't a bad album, and I don't think it's a "light" album either. It's probably the most depressing U2 album I've ever heard. But there's a certain dynamic that I feel like is lacking here, that was strongly present in some way shape or form on all the other albums. This album is short on a grand vision and that unique, idealistic, self-assured, sweeping, spirited core that carried all the other U2 albums.
