The U2 album for people who don't really like U2

Maybe you're like me and you own U2's best-known albums like The Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby and All That You Can't Leave Behind, but just find them a little boring and don't listen to them all that much. Your tastes are generally quite a bit left of U2.

If this sounds like you, you may really like Pop. It's the one U2 album that I listen to consistently, because of its interesting textures and electronic influences. Maybe I should have titled this review "the U2 album for R.E.M. fans."
