Lapse of judegement

My absolute favorite band in the world. It did not dawn on me how horrible this offering was until U2 finally released "All That You Can't Leave Behind." I kept this CD, only because I am a true fan. "Mofo" and possibly "Staring At the Sun" are the only salvation to this crap! The latter part of the CD is complete crap. Sort of like some of early Pink Floyd's worst songs. Many of the reviews have suggested that this is innovative and groundbreaking. This is a step in neither direction. U2 capitalized on their career with "Joshua Tree" and "Achtung Baby." Zooropa was marginal, in that it was experimental and offered some excellent songs, while putting some very filler stuff on it. Their heads got too big!! I gave this CD another chance after listening to their latest offering, "All That You Can't Leave Behind," and I see how desparation was amongst them with this release. They should have made the fanbase wait much longer before putting this depression-induced disappointment out. Every band, even as high a caliber as U2, has to go through a terrible period/album. If it is possible that this wonderous band made a mistake, this is it!! Check out the newest offering and all other offerings, but stay away from this one!
