Don't worry, U2 is still creating great music!

I didn't like this album at first (like many people), and I thought U2 had lost their magic. True, it is not the old U2, however, U2 HAS NOT LOST ITS MAGIC! After listening to this album on headphones a few times and reading the lyrics I am now hooked. U2's ingeniousness is somewhat hidden and will not be discovered unless the listener gives it a chance to reveal itself. Without a doubt, the gem of this album is "If God Will Send His Angels" (track 4). (Note: if you just want IGWSHA, DON'T buy the single because it is edited and is robbed of it's power.) I also enjoy the rest of the songs after IGWSHA. (I don't like the first 3 songs) The poetic lyrics make up for the parts that are musically lacking, and vice versa. This album is worth the patience, give it a chance.
