What Happened?

I have been a UFO fan for 16 years. Actually, I can recall the days when I listened to "Strangers in the Night" and "Lights Out" on L.P. I have been enjoying the rich, power melodies of UFO through the band's transformations, from the early pre-Schenker days through the turbulent 80's. I was very impressed with "Walk On Water". I waited for "Covenant" with hope and the expectation that UFO fans would find their group, once again generating a masterpiece. I was prepared to find that the public undervalues or ignores the talent. What I did not expect was that I would listen to the CD only to get rid of it with a sense of grief and disappoitment. I found the lyric in the first track which referenced Jesus Christ as a, "fool" to be unneccesary and blasphemous. I found that the lyrics were at times violent, at other times dull and often shallow. The whole CD seemed rushed and pressured and was shaped in to a heavy metal mold. Even the photo on the back lacked the maturity expected of fifty-year old musicians. Sorry guys, I never thought I'd say this but it was a bomb,in my opinion. Please try again. UFO fans are used to waiting. As for me, I'll play "Obsession" and reminisce.
