A pleasant surprise!

I've always loved Uriah Heep in all of their many incarnations. Always inventive and sincere, their songs were very diverse in type. You never knew what they would come up with next. They have evolved over the years into a thoughtful, mature band. I bought "Sonic Origami" because I was curious, not knowing what to expect. I was amazed at the quality of this CD from beginning to end. Both the songwriting and production are absolutely top-notch. Make no mistake, this a different sound than they had 30 years ago. And granted, depending on how you look at it, that could be good or bad. But for me, I think this a great new sound. It's hard to pick a favorite song out of these since this album is totally excellent from start to finish. No clunkers here. I always listen to it straight through without skipping any songs. And in my experience, that's rare. I honestly can't wait for their next studio album with new songs. After 30 years of giving me pleasure, I hardly think they could disappoint me now. Rock on, Uriah Heep!
