A band regaining their Balance.
Review Score:

(10/10)
To begin with, I love this album.
Everything's so good on it. Music is well composed, produced and performed, front concept is such an original, weird but simple and elegant cover, as well as the inlay with the egg balancing on Eddie's guitar.
The opening with The Seventh Seal is overwhelming, Eddie at his best with the Haggar's voice in top shape.
There are several Van Halen classics on this album, like Don't Tell me, The aforementioned The Seventh Seal, Not Enoug, Take Me Back and the underrated but filled with Eddie's virtuosity and pyrothecnics Aftershock. The icing of the cake are the strange Strung Out and the dynamic Baluchitherium.
All the energy of Van Halen is back on Balance.
Sound quality is pristine, drums are very well captured with a lot of punch, bass guitar is absolutely there, with a lot of "weight", not hidden in the mix (as is the norm on Rock recordings), Eddie's guitar is very sharp and Sammy's voice is well defined, always very present on the mix.
Balance is a very consistent album.
Not only for die hard fans.
