Really Good!

My friend gave me this CD for my birthday. I was kind of hesitant about it because I have never really been exposed to Van Halen, so I just popped it in my CD player hoping for the best. I got it.

This CD is an absolute gem. Van Halen are almost at the hard rock point, but not quite, giving them a great sound that works on all of their songs. Can't Stop Loving You is a beautiful ballad that deserved all the recognition it got. Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do) is flat out awesome. Even though Doin' Time is just an instrumental, it is still one of the best songs on the CD. Aftershock is incredibly catchy. Ed Van Halen's guitars sound very good, as do Alex Van Halen's drums. The vocals by Sammy Hagar are incredible. I'd definately suggest this album. Even if you haven't experienced Van Halen before this, this is an awesome place to start.
