Van Halen's Best
Review Score:

(10/10)
This is by far Van Halen's finest album. It seems as though each member has finely tuned their skills.
Eddie Van Halen rocks on the guitar (as usual). He mixes rhythm with intricate leads here and there, making the songs that much more interesting and entertaining.
Alex Van Halen is wonderful on the drums. Solid as ever but mixing things up as he goes. "Doin' Time" is an awesome drum solo.
Michael Anthony sticks to his usual 8th note bass lines for the most part. But there are some nice chops thrown in here and there.
Sammy Hagar sings wondefully. His voice is extremely fitting for the overall sound. Although some of the lyrics can be pretty simple, sometimes simple lyrics are more appropriate.
This album goes everywhere, from beautiful ballads ("Not Enough", Can't Stop Lovin' You") to harder rock ("The Seventh Seal", "Aftershock") to good ol' rock & roll ("Big Fat Money"). None of the songs sound forced, they are all wondefully written.
This album is amazing. I don't know how anybody could rate it less than 5 stars. This CD will stay with me until I'm old and gray.
