Being a humungous Van Halen fan, I like all their albums. Balance, however, is above the rest. Every song on it is good (I don't count 'Strung Out'). 'The Seventh Seal' is a fast paced, epic rocker which haunts you with the Bhuddist chanting in the beginning. 'Can't Stop Loving You' is an awesome love ballad that is the kind of thing you would play for your girlfriend. 'Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do)' is a great hard rock peace, the opening guitar riff is excellent. 'Amsterdam', my personal favorite, is the best song on the album. The guitar solo is AWESOME, I can't stop rewinding it and listening to it. 'Big Fat Money'is pure fun, and the lyrics are hilarious. 'Strung Out', well, is an intermediate song to distinguish between the first and second halfs of the CD in my opinion. 'Not Enough' is a great piano tune, a bit different than other VH songs. 'Aftershock' is my least favorite, it is a great rocker, but it is missing something. 'Doin' Time' is a great drum solo, and it leads into the macho and magnificent 'Bauchitherium'. Following it is 'Take me Back (Deja Vu)', which is a pleasant song that makes you think of a brezzy porch on a beach house with windchimes and the smell of the ocean. Finally, the powerful epic 'Feelin' ' is such a great closing for the CD. Balance is one of Van Halen's best, and I reccomend it for every fan of rock and roll.
