Best of Both Worlds

MOST REVIEWERS HERE HAVE IT ALL WRONG

You know what they say about opinions....they are like ***holes. Everybody has one. Lesson number one: music is an art form. Painting, photography, drawing, sculpting, music, any form of enlivening the senses -- ALL of it is art. What I see in most of the negative reviews here is jealousy in the fact that no other band or you reviewers can produce such an artform as Van Halen, regardless of its singer. Concerning the 3 new tracks, it is Eddie at his finest, with extreme intricacy and delicacy on "Learning to See", as well as very well-written, sung, and funny "Up for Breakfast". Just look around the Web a bit at all the rave reviews of that song. It is the essence of Van Halen all over again. Van Halen music is recognized foremost by the guitar that's heard. It's unmistakable. Stop whining about singers. The music rocks, and Van Halen is about rock music. Dave sang slow stuff ("Jamie's Cryin'","Dance the Night Away"), yet they were hits. Same with Sammy. Many of you folks have tunnel vision, and live in the past in some hole so deep you can't see any light comin' down. Sammy Hagar is equal with David Lee Roth because of the simple fact that he is a different man and has won over millions of fans around the world just like DLR. How did he do it? He can sing wonderfully. You got that folks? The man can sing. If you hate Eddie now, you never liked Van Halen. It has his last name, remember? If you don't like the new stuff, you never liked rock music or creativity, and seemingly never heard any in your life. As far as the selection of tracks that make up this compilation, the band collectively chose their favorites. All of you are different, and the band would have to release its entire catalog to satisfy all of you. Finally, this set is fine exactly as it is, and this fine piece of art stands its ground no matter how hard anyone wants to shake it. One last pointer; this 2004 tour is selling like mad, unlike these bad reviewers getting all their buddies to put in a good vote for 'em and/or registering with Amazon under false names just so they can vote on their own pathetic reviews.

First off, I have to say that this 2-Disc compilation was sorely needed and is a huge step forward from the single-disc Best of Van Halen Vo [ ... read complete review ]
