For over twenty years, several people have listened to Van Halen. If it wasn't for Gene Simmons (who discovered the band)Van Halen probably wouldn't have gotten as lucky as they did. First they had David Lee Roth, then there was Sammy Hagar, then Gary Cherone, and now Sammy Hagar is finally back. Even though I would like to see David Lee Roth rejoin the group, we all know that that will never happen (Alex Van Halen once said that on a radio show) and we probably will never have to worry(as we did once)about Van Halen splitting up. Anyway, to the album. This is probably the best greatest hits album Van Halen has put out on the market, even better than the three "Van Halen Best Of" albums. This CD is titled "The Best Of Both Worlds", and there are two discs. There are songs on this album that were recorded with both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar, and some songs on this album that were originally sung by David Lee Roth are sung by Sammy Hagar. There are also three new studio songs on here( "It's About Time", "Up for Breakfast", and "Learning to See"). I enjoyed all three songs, and you can tell by listening to the lyrics that "It's About Time" is the Van Halen reunion song. Excellent job, guys. Another bonus for this album is that the Van Halen classics "Ain't Talkin' About Love", "Jump", and "Panama" appear on two versions on this CD: Studio with David Lee Roth and live with Sammy Hagar. Out of all of the good things 2004 has seen(as far as music goes) the Van Halen reunion and this new album are probably the best things the music industry has seen this year.
