Sammy Hagar's tracks could have been so much better. After ripping through eight tracks of solid rocking, it's a bit of a shock to get hit in the face with a power ballad. Sammy only gets seven songs on this CD, and FOUR of them are love songs. "Best Of Both Worlds," "Finish What Ya Started," and "Top of the World" deserve spots on this CD. There's more to Sammy Hagar's era than power ballads, and unfourtunatley we see way too much of that. "Humans Being" is a saving grace, however.
"Can't Get This Stuff No More" and "Me Wise Magic" are both great tracks, even if the lyrics are nonsense. I'm not exactly sure what they were thinking when they wrote "Steak and potatoes are better in a bucket;" although, as always, the guitar solos are solid.
Why's everybody saying that Hagar got too much space on this CD? Hagar got seven tracks to Roth's eight (ten, if you count the two new tracks.)
