Why can't this be love

This collection definitely whets my appetite for more Van Halen music, but it falls short of what one would expect from a best-of album. Split between the David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar years, it condenses the history of this great band into a smattering of songs which arguably aren't always the best selections. Still, it offers an enticing taste of what you're missing if you don't have the original albums (especially those with Diamond Dave), which are pictured along with track listings in the cover insert.
