This is really not that bad of an album if you pretend to have never heard any Van Halen music before this. "Without You" was the first and I think only single. Not a bad song with a good chorus. The best song on the album by far is "Fire In The Hole" which is on the Lethal Weapon 4 sound track. It is as close to the old Van Halen sound as you can get on this cd. Very tasty guitar in the song. Eddie really does sound fantastic on this record. His tone sounds awesome! He does not let it rip as often but you still know who it is playing. Gary Cherone is an excellent singer who ends up way over singing trying to fill the shoes of Sammy Hagar which simply can't be done. When Van Halen hired Sammy they got a mega upgrade from David Lee Roth as a vocalist and songwriter. The Roth years were awesome because of Eddie re-inventing the guitar but the Hagar years were the best music they ever made. Check out the F.U.C.K. album from 1991 to hear VH at it's best ever. This cd sounds nothing like the glory years but it is not a bad listen especially for the die hard fans like me.
