Quite simply, this is not Van Halen. Not even close. Save your money and buy anything else on this website. ANYTHING. From the first song to the last song (can I consider "How Many Say I" a song?), it is like dropping a bomb on every memory you have of the once mighty band that rocked for over two decades. There is a reason why the front art of the CD is a guy getting a cannonball blasted into his stomach. This is what every loyal fan wanted to do to themselves after hearing what Van Halen had become. When did VH use their music for political reasons? "The Ballot Or The Bullet"??? Give me the "Bullet" anyday and I will thank you for it instead of listening to this. Just make sure it is in the ear as I would hate to hear this CD again. "Fire In The Hole"??? Throw this CD into it. "One I Want" sounds like something that the Captain and Tenille wrote and threw away because it was so awful, even for them. I have been and always will be a loyal fan of the Roth and Hagar years, and this is a slap in the face to any VH fan. Where are Alex's powerful drums? All we get is a hollow echo. WHERE'S THE BASS??? Did Michael Anthony go on vacation and nobody noticed? "Once" is awful, and I wish I could say that is how many times I heard this CD. But I kept going back with the hope that it would get better. It didn't. For God's sake use your money and buy lunch, anything but this CD. I am not joking. The Collector's Edition I so foolishly bought on the first day the CD came out has not seen the light of day and has failed miserably in my attempt to sell it on EBay as any VH fan would not even duplicate my ridiculous purchase. I have since given my copy away to another life-long VH fan who uses it to toture unsuspecting people who come over to his house. I love VH, and 3 times is usually a charm. Not with this waste. Save your money, you'll thank me later. Or, buy it to make your enemy's ears bleed. Either way, you'll thank me in the end.
