Van Halen goes down for the count! Very bad album!

No stars, actually! Gary Cherone politely dismissed himself from the band, following the public's spin on this disaster of an album. The music direction definitely went south....Mike Post and Edward produced this mess! The Van Halen sound, that fans had grown so accustomed to, had been drastically altered in this release. Funk and slow "watered down" rhythm had now been incorporated. Warner Bros gave Edward and company the axe, recently, and now, we VH fans await to hear news of a new album (on an independent label?) from our rock heroes....we've been waiting since '98. After listening to this awful album, I have come to realize that Edward, Alex and Michael have lost their focus on making great music....listen to "How Many Say I" and you'll grimace! Edward sings lead and is terrible on his performance! He proved that he does not have the talent to sing! "Without You" is the 1 good song on this very disappointing album....it has the spark of energy that fortified the David Lee Roth/Sammy Hagar VH hits! But, sadly, this one good song will not carry an album to success....it turned out to be their only single. Embarassing effort. I am hoping that Edward and Sammy will, some how, work out their differences and get Hagar back in the band, and ROCK again!!!! I would not recommend buying Van Halen 3....play all the other 11 albums and remember - when the music was real and awesome!!!!
