Honesty

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (8/10)
This is the first time I have written a review of an album and it's total honesty.

First off, so many people are comparing this album to previous works of all band members (obviously, GN'R, STP and even Snakepit gets a mention) but u should all be reminded it is a NEW BAND and a new generation of rock.

Name one album released in the last 5 years that even compares to this album, cuz there is none. It's sensational from start to finish and has something for everyone. Do It For The Kids starts off with Scott screaming "Went too fast i'm outta luck and i don't even give a F**K!" which is sure to be highly popular with fans when played live. For the first time ever Slash, and i am a huge fan of Slash mind you, i even have a tattoo of him, but for the first time ever he actually steps aside and lets the other guys do things on their own so that explains why there isn't MANY long, clear solos on the album. Do u think Axl ever let Duff and Matt do their own thing? No, so it's nothing but good news for the whole band.

Velvet Revolver are filling a void in the music industry and that void is rock. There is no rock anymore. No mainstream rock anyway. What comes close? Bands like Nickelback? Pfft, what crap that is!

The boys no longer play in a band for money - they are doing it for kicks and to entertain us fans! So I for one am thanking them. If u really need to compare this album to Appetite or Core then ur probably right, it is kind of average, but if u don't compare it to anything and listen to them like u are meant to - as a brand new band - then u will be blown away.

As i said, I am a huge Slash fan and I already bought this album three times within a week of it's release (for the 3 different album covers, hehe) and I recommened it to anyone that loves Rock n' Roll and hasn't been able to find a NEW band that they like for some time. This would definately be the album for you. Enjoy!

PS, Also highly suggest u all go buy Josh Todd's (ex-Buckcherry) new album "You Made Me" and Brides of Destruction's (Nikki Sixx, Tracii Gunns) album "Here Come the Brides"...

Finally some good Rock and Roll

It's no GNR but this is the best album I've heard in a long time. The only thing I will tell you is that this is a rock and roll album and [ ... read complete review ]
