I'm listening to a lot of rock from the 70's, 80' & 90's but in the past 5 years I didn't buy many Heavy Metal or Alternative Rock CD's. There's still few good bands but too many that sucks & overall I find there is a lack of inspiration in the past few years. Guns and STP are some bands that I've never stopped listening to. Velvet Revolver is a good mix of these two great bands but with a new heavy sound. They don't look back but forward by bringing to us great tunes that rocks. I don't find it sounds to much like Guns or STP, if you like both of these bands, I don't think you will either. If you didn't like those bands; why would you even buy this album?... probably because some people just like to hate these musicians, I can see why but you have to admit that they bring something new & refreshing to the industry. In fact, I would've been deceived if I would not hear any hints of the bands pasts. Scott Weiland is a great singer, if you seen him in concert in the past; you know what I'm talking about! For those who doesn't like bands that rocks like Velvet Revolver; go back & listen to Limp Biskit, Rob Zombie or Kid Rock! Myself I was missing some pure & raw Rock & Roll & I can't wait to see that show. Thanks to Scott, Slash, Duff & cie and I hope you guys will stay around for another 10 years at least!
