Good, but not great

I bought this album mainly because I heard "Slither" on the radio and thought "Hark! What is this? A new rock song that's not crappy?!? How can this be?" Well, I bought the album, and though I wasn't disappointed, I wasn't exactly thrilled either. It wasn't that the album was bad; in fact I can't really pinpoint what keeps it from being a four or a five star, but something's just... missing. It just lacks punch. My guess is that the members of Velvet Revolver, having been in the business a long time, kind of have a set formula when making songs. While this isn't a bad thing, it dulls their music, so that it lacks the energy and ferocity of a younger band. Worth the money, but don't expect to be blown away.

On a side note, I was able to download the music to my iPod just fine. I have a Mac though. Maybe it's just on Windows that this copyright protection thing works.
