Fantastic disc of original Vonda creations, not remakes

(10/10)I was so sure I was gonna hate this, but I can't stop listening to it.
I'd be willing to bet that the bad reviews were written by those under 40 and the good ones for us "older" folks, because VS is slightly (just SLIGHTLY - relax, JM fans!) reminiscent of Joni Mitchell.
She doesn't have the instrument or imagination that Joni does, but there are similarities in introspective themes and immediacy of story - like she's a friend on the phone.
There will never be another Joni Mitchell, but like JM, Vonda Shephard's phrases go beyond the average musical thought in the average pop song. She adds unique ornaments and does subtle, unexpected stylistic turns.
Buy it if you're looking for Joni Mitchell Lite.
