Sorry, but it is time for someone to utter a discouraging word. The only value to this album comes from reminding us of what was, and sending us back to the old vinyl. Sometimes, immitation indeed is the sincerest form of flattery. Other times, it just should not be done. Like here.

These songs were better the first time around. "Walk Away Renee", "Ask The Lonely", and most of the others recorded here just don't hold a candle to the originals. And only in the interest of historical accuracy, to gently correct another reviewer, "It's In His Kiss" was recorded by Betty Everett fifteen years before Cher did (you could look it up!)

Like Manilow singing Sinatra, of the aforementioned Bolton singing Percy Sledge, some things should just not be done.
