Whitney Houston

Bodyguard

Really, I Hated This.

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (2/10)
This soundtrack recalls the days when Whitney sang giant, empty ballads with no soul. Like the movie, this soundtrack is absolutely wretched: Whitney screams throughout Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You;" she desecrates Chaka's "I'm Every Woman," and, again, screams in another big ballad "I Have Nothing." The Babyface-penned "Queen of the Night" is the only track with any sass, but it's too little too late. Granted, Whitney can sing, and she did move to to better material, but how this record sold so many copies is a big unsolved mystery.
