My Love Is Your Love

Whitney's best!!!

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
Whitney has had bigger hit albums, and those also had more memorable tracks, but this is hands down her best album.

It's Not Right, But It's Okay- a funky tune, about a woman who catches her man cheating. This track grows on you the more you listen. The remix is far more catchy and superior, though. B-

Heartbreak Hotel- a very good modern-day R&B tune, which is sung by Whitney, Faith Evans, and Kelly Price. It was surprisingly the biggest hit on the album, but a very good track by anyone's standards. I like it a lot. B

My Love Is Your Love- a fun and uplifting song, which is a little on the religious song, but one of the strongest songs on the album. Irresistibly catchy too. A-

When You Believe- a would-be smash movie ballad she sang with Mariah Carey. It is actually pretty good, but not the runaway movie theme it was supposed to be. Kinda formulaic as well. C+

If I Told You That- it seems like a weird choice when you first hear it, but it's better with every listen. A lot like the assertive R&B you heard from singers like Brandy at that time. B

In My Business- an okay song. It's a song that reflects Whitney's irritability with the media talking her and Bobby down. Missy Elliot is featured, but she seems too out of place on the song. C

I Learned From The Best- my favorite song on the whole album. It's got a jazz sound to it, and she sounds highly soulful on this track. Her voice is incredible on this song. A

Oh Yes- my least favorite song on the CD. Extremely slow, and at nearly 7 minutes, it feels like this song will never end. But still, this song does have some good points to it. C

Get It Back- alright, but its honestly the only song that I forget. It isn't very catchy. C+

Until You Come Back- this song has great promise, and had the potential to be a great power ballad, but it's a little too generic. B-

I Bow Out- It's a great song. Whitney is her best "bitchy diva" in this song. I love it. A-

You'll Never Stand Alone- One of the best tracks on the CD. I think this should have been released as a single. It's traditional Whitney Houston (on the same page as "I Will Always Love You" and "The Greatest Love Of All") A

I Was Made To Love Him- I thought this cover was a good track, though it seemed like a bad way to end the album. Ending with "You'll Never Stand Alone" would have been a perfect ending. B

Whitney is at her soulful best on this album. It seems a tad rushed at times, and doesn't have the standards like her other albums, but that's what makes this album so great. It's spontaneous, and all the tracks are well done.
