When My Love Is Your Love was released in November of 1998, it was given little press and therefore never got a big launch like other Whitney Houston albums. But since then it has spawned three top five singles, and five top 40 singles (in the U.S.) and has sold well over 10 million copies worldwide. It contains tracks that help to finish what Whitney started with 1990's I'm Your Baby Tonight, which is to move Whitney into the world of R&B. This album has some of the best lyrics Whitney has ever sung, which helped to create four #1 Dance Hits (It's Not Right But It's Okay, Heartbreak Hotel, My Love Is Your Love, and I Learned From The Best). Whitney has included some ballads for her fans, including I Learned From The Best, probably her best song since I Will Always Love You and You'll Never Stand Alone, a balland in the Greatest Love Of All tradition. Rodney Jerkins did a wonderful job of It's Not Right But It's Okay (A Grammy Award winner for Best R&B Vocal Performance Female), it is a real R&B song, and is much better than the radio edit. My Love Is Your Love, Heartbreak Hotel, and When You Believe are also included. There are only two misses, I Was Made To Love Him (the Lauryn Hill produced remake of the Stevie Wonder classic) and Oh Yes ( a horrible attempt by Missy Elliot to write and produce a ballad, however she does redeem herself on In My Business, a very creative song based on Whitney's marriage). How could an Album which recieved 7 Grammy Nominations not be worth buying? The CD is worth every penny and will become a classic album in the future.
