This self-titled release follows up and capitalize on her previous work, and it surely was MY Summer 1987 album.
She still has much of the same prduction team: Narada Michael Walden and Michael Masser upfront.
Let's not forget this album also scored a couple of records of its own: first album ever by a female artist to debut at # 1 of the Top 200 album chart and also the first one to score four # 1 singles in a row off the same album; I WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY (WHO LOVES ME), DIDN'T WE ALMOST HAVE IT ALL , SO EMOTIONAL (written by hitmaker duo Kelly/Steinberg - remember Madonna's LIKE A VIRGIN, Cyndi Lauper's TRUE COLORS or Heart's ALONE? - and WHERE DO BROKEN HEARTS GO? (Whitney looking as lovely as ever in the video...).
The album also includes a very sensual track called FOR THE LOVE OF YOU and a duet with mom Cissy...not really memorable...
Just top it all off with Whitney's soaring vocals and you get the idea!
