Wilco Continues to Impress
Review Score:

(10/10)
I was worried what a Wilco album would sound like now that Jay Bennett has left, but should never have been too concerned as Wilco has always been Tweedy's band. While the album is still very experimental (like YHF), it is much more organic and does not have nearly as many layers piled up as on Summerteeth and YHF, which was mostly due to Bennett.
One good result of Bennett's departure is Tweedy's new prowess with the guitar, as he had to handle the primary duty himself. Who would have ever expected the amount of solos he spits out on this album?
As for the songs, they are all very strong, except for the last 12 minutes of 'Less Than You Think' but there are enough reviews that talk about that. That is what is nice about CDs, listen to the first 3 minutes and skip to the amazing country-tinged rock of 'The Late Greats'.
Other songs show a great amount of versatility: 'At Least That's What You Said' with its slow piano opener to its ragged Neil Young styled guitar jam, the beatlesque 'Hummingbird', the garage rock of 'I'm a Wheel', and the folkier 'Company in My Back' are just some examples.
While not quite as great as 'Being There', 'Summerteeth' or 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot', it is still essential for any Wilco fan, and just about any music fan trying to extend beyond the typical (usually boring) stuff on the radio.
